Allan Pritchard
Managing Director and
Senior Designer
Allan started his architectural career in 1998 at a large international architectural firm. He worked his way up to become a senior technician and CAD manager. From there he developed an interest in management and set a goal to start his own architectural firm. Allan's other interests include search and rescue and a passion for landscape and wildlife photography. He enjoys sport, including squash, golf and tramping.
Jared Lane
Senior Designer
After struggling to make ends meet for several years after graduating from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Jared decided to get a real job; and went back to Polytech to gain a Diploma in Architectural Draughting - graduating in 2003. Since then he has worked as a technician and is now AP Design's Senior Designer, never regretting the decision he made. Jared started work at Allan Pritchard Ltd in 2006. He can still sometimes find the time between work and his fatherly duties to do some painting or illustrating work, and publishes his own annual Comic book called 'Progress'.
Margie Sharkey
Finance Manager
Margie is Allan's partner and therefore is integral to the company by default. Margie works part time at AP Design. Margie handles the overall finances and payroll within the company. Having co-owned an English Language School for 14 years, there is little she has not experienced when it comes to running a business. In her spare time Margie interests include reading, wine appreciation and tramping amongst other things.
Lynn McDonald
SeniorTechnician
Lynn joined the AP Design Team in 2007 having graduated at the top of her year from Christchurch Polytechnic with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. Lynn very quickly moved from being a junior technician to being a competent and respected member of the team. She is now the senior technician in the office and handles most of the large commercial and educational projects. Lynn grew up on the West Coast and enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and whitebaiting. Her other interests include reading and walking her dogs.
Adam Cooper
Technician
Adam joined the AP Design team after the septemper earthquake. While Allan was trying to arrange new phone lines the Telecom operator asked if there were any positions going as her brother in law was looking for work. The rest was history. Adam is involved in Fraemoh's manfacturing drawings, educational work and project management. Adam gained his qualifications from the Christchurch Design and Arts college.
Helen Crighton
Office Manager
Helen joined the AP Design Team in June 2010 as the Office Manager having just re-entered the work force after bringing up 3 daughters, now 6, 8 and 10. Helen's background was with South Power as the administration officer for the faults team. She created and managed the database and spreadsheets and acted as back office support for the team of engineers. Helen's other interest aside from being a mum are family camping trips, walking her dog, reading and listening to music
Romeo Villaneuva
Technician
Romeo joined the AP Design team to work on the AMI contract inspecting houses and undertaking repair documentation. Romeo started as a builder working on commerical projects in Dunedin then went on to complete an architectural diploma. Romeo is the unofficial social club director. Originally from the Phillipines Romeo grew up in Dunedin from the age of 8.
Brie Thomas
Technician
Brie started with AP Design originally to assist with the AMI contract but has since moved into Educational work. Brie graduated from Christchurch Polytechnic with a Diploma in Architectural Technology at the end of 2010. Brie grew up on a farm in Akaroa and is heavily involved in surf life saving and hockey.
Jayant Rana
Technician
Jay joined the team in April 2011 to assist with the AMI work. Jay was brought up in India and trained as an Architect. He moved to England for a period to extend his experience and eventually came out to New Zealand where he studied Resource Management.
Thomas Douglas
Technician
Tom started at the same time as Jay to work on the AMI contract. Originally coming from Wales he worked throughout England. Tom not only has technical knowlage but also the practical background of being a builder. Tom interests include downhill mountain biking and experiencing nightlife wherever it can be found. He arrived in Christchurch just in time for the earthquakes and is therefore officially a Cantabrian.
David Henderson
With the AMI contract expanding David was brought into the team to manage the 200-300 projects that AP Design are handling. David is originally from Scotland and adds to the multicultural feel of the office. It is often joked that if a Welshman, a Phillipino, an Indian and a Scotsman walked into a bar.... it's just the AP Design AMI team. David has extensive Design experience from the UK in both residential and commercial and brings a wealth of experience in managing projects.
Nidhi Semwal
Technician
Nidhi was a recent additon to AP Design joining us in August. Nidhi grew up in India but has lived in New Zealand for many years. Nidhi graduated from CPIT with an Architectural Diploma in 2005 and has worked as an architectural designer since then. In her free time Nidhi enjoys music, dancing and watching comedies. Nidhi's calm personality is a welcome addition to the somewhat crazy at times AP team.
Fabricio Fernandes
Senior Designer
Fabricio is our latest staff member after joining us in mid September. Another addition to the 'great big melting pot' that is AP Design, Fabricio is originally from Brazil. Fabricio attained his Architectural and Urban Planner degree in Brazil in 2002. Fabricio's hobbies include travelling, photography and cycle touring.
