On February 22nd Christchurch was hit by another earthquake. This one was located in the settlement of Heathcote and only 5km deep. Much of eastern Christchurch and the City centre suffered major damage. Unlike the earthquake of September 4th there were lives lost and a number of prominent buildings in town collapsed.
Our offices were not structurally damaged but unfortunately subsided with the liquefaction. As a consequence there was substantial flooding through the office of about 300mm. All of our staff were ok and did a fantastic job of saving as many records and computers as possible.
We were lucky enough to be offered space with a major client of ours - Fraemohs Homes. Fraemohs homes and AP Design have a strong relationship as we provided all of their manufacturing drawings for their solid wood home.
AP Design, prior to the earthquake, were working with AMI and Arrow International assessing earthquake damaged houses and providing documentation for repairs and new homes if required. Once we were setup and running it was business as usual if not busier than before.
We now have 3 divisions in the office, our Architectural team, handling residential customers, educational and commercial, our Fraemohs Homes team providing designs and production drawings and lastly our AMI-Arrow team providing assessments and repair documentation.
We are currently
located at 1200 Main North Road just south of the old Waimak Bridge
in the Framohs Homes Office. Our Phone Numbers
remain the same and our new postal address is below
